These terms apply to workshop and mobile appointments, vehicle diagnostics and electronic services, installations, online and postal services, digital file services, and goods sold through https://lehane.co. Please read them before paying a deposit, authorising work or placing an order. We also refer customers to these terms in our booking system and emails. Your statutory rights are not affected.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Lehane Autos Limited, trading as Lehane Autos (company number 12109355), is registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 215 Swansea Road, Waunarlwydd, Swansea, SA5 4SN. Workshop and trading address: 21A Woodfield Street, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 8AQ. Email: info@lehane.co. Telephone: 01792 389549. Website: https://lehane.co.

Please use the workshop address only for visits, collections or returns where we have agreed to receive them. We provide VAT invoices where required. Our VAT registration number is GB495822841.

2. Customers and scope

These terms apply to private consumers and business or trade customers. Where consumer protection legislation gives a private consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, those rights take precedence over these terms. Trade-specific arrangements may be confirmed in an accepted written quotation or trade account agreement. Additional manufacturer, finance, monitoring or software-provider terms may apply where clearly identified before purchase.

3. Estimates, quotations and authorisation

An estimate is an indication based on information available at the time; a fixed quotation is binding only for the described scope and any stated validity period. Please supply accurate vehicle identification, specification, existing modifications, fault history and relevant circumstances. Prices or lead times may change where the information supplied was incomplete or the vehicle reveals additional faults; we will seek your agreement before carrying out materially additional chargeable work.

Written job instructions, appointment notes and changes to work

Customers must ensure that all requested work is clearly documented in writing in their booking description, appointment notes or a subsequently accepted written instruction. The confirmed workshop diary appointment notes, together with any accepted job card, quotation or written amendments, are our principal reference for the scope of booked work, diagnostic priorities, allocated time and charges. Customers should provide a clear description of each separate fault or service requested, relevant symptoms and circumstances, and any priorities. Where we take a booking by telephone or in person, we will record the work accepted and provide or make available a written confirmation. The customer should notify us if anything is missing or incorrect.

Please check your booking notes and tell us promptly in writing if any fault or request is missing or inaccurate, ideally before the appointment. Additional requests made verbally, including at reception, during drop-off or by telephone, are not automatically accepted, included or scheduled. An additional request must be expressly accepted by Lehane Autos, taking account of available time, equipment, pricing and resources. Any change we accept should be confirmed in the job card, workshop diary, email or message; if we have not accepted it, the work may not be investigated or completed during that appointment and may need a separate quote or booking.

We are entitled to charge the agreed amount for originally authorised diagnostic, repair and labour work properly performed, even if an unrelated or additional concern that was not accepted for that appointment remains unresolved. Such charges do not become invalid solely because an unrelated request mentioned at drop-off was not separately scheduled or carried out. Where extra work is agreed, we will seek approval for any material additional labour or parts charges before proceeding.

Nothing in this clause removes our responsibility for work we expressly agree to undertake, whether the agreement is written or legally effective verbally, or affects your statutory rights where our services have not been supplied with reasonable care and skill.

Agreed charges for authorised inspection, diagnostic investigation or testing remain payable for work properly performed even if a fault is intermittent, cannot be reproduced or cannot be resolved within the allocated time. Unless expressly agreed in writing, a diagnostic booking does not guarantee a repair or conclusive diagnosis. Any recommended further work will be explained and authorised separately.

4. Prices, VAT and payment

Consumer-facing prices will be shown including applicable VAT and other unavoidable charges, with a breakdown where useful. A VAT-exclusive figure may additionally be shown, especially for trade customers, but will not replace the clear VAT-inclusive price where consumers can buy. If an element genuinely cannot be calculated in advance (for example, variable delivery or labour after inspection), we will explain how it is calculated and disclose it before commitment as required by law. Any mandatory booking, fitting, delivery or other unavoidable charge must be made clear before an order or contract is confirmed. Optional extras require your agreement.

The applicable rate, any minimum labour period, travel charges and parts costs will be stated in the accepted booking confirmation, order or quotation. Published rate cards may be updated for future bookings; an accepted fixed price will not be changed without agreement unless permitted by law. Payment plans or third-party finance, where offered, are subject to separate provider eligibility, disclosures and agreement. We accept the payment methods offered at checkout or agreed with you. We may request payment for authorised parts or specialist services in advance. Deposits are credited against the agreed final charge unless a different lawful arrangement is expressly disclosed. Any VAT included in a deposit will be accounted for in the final invoice without being added twice.

VAT invoices and payment records: The order or invoice will identify the goods and services supplied and show the applicable VAT breakdown where required. Where an online payment is accepted, we will provide an appropriate order confirmation and invoice or receipt record. A deposit or other advance payment already accounted for will not be charged or taxed a second time on the final invoice.

5. Compulsory booking deposits

An upfront deposit is required to secure a workshop, installation, diagnostic or mobile-service appointment unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing. A requested appointment is not confirmed until we have accepted it and the applicable deposit has been received. The accepted booking notes describe the agreed work; please check these carefully as explained in section 3. The deposit amount (including VAT, where applicable) will be made clear before payment; it may vary with the work, equipment, travel and reserved time.

The deposit will ordinarily be credited against the agreed job price. Deposits reserve time and resources and can be retained towards reasonable costs and direct losses where a customer cancels late, fails to attend or requests a late change. It is not automatically forfeited in every circumstance: any amount retained will be limited to a fair amount reflecting our genuine, reasonably foreseeable or actual direct loss, taking account of costs saved and reasonable opportunities to reallocate the slot. We will explain any deduction if requested, and return any balance due. The separate statutory cancellation rights in section 7 also apply where relevant.

6. Appointment cancellation, no-shows and rearrangements

Please give at least seven calendar days’ notice before the agreed appointment start time if you need to cancel or rearrange. With seven days’ or more notice we will ordinarily offer a transfer to an available alternative appointment; if you instead cancel, we will assess any reasonable unrecoverable costs already incurred and refund the remainder of the deposit as required by law.

Where you cancel or request to rearrange less than seven calendar days before the appointment, do not attend or fail to make the vehicle available, the original appointment may be treated as cancelled. The seven days are calculated from the scheduled start of the appointment. We may retain some or all of the original deposit, but only to the extent reasonably justified by the loss directly caused and any costs already committed, after taking reasonable steps to reduce that loss. A replacement deposit may be required to secure a new appointment. Requiring a new deposit is not a second penalty: we will not recover the same loss twice. This section does not permit charges contrary to a statutory cancellation right.

If we cancel because we cannot supply the agreed service, and you have not caused that cancellation, we will offer an alternative or refund sums due to you, including the relevant unused deposit. Cancellation fees will not apply where exercising statutory rights or where a cancellation is the result of our breach. Please contact info@lehane.co promptly so that we can record any proposed change.

7. Statutory cooling-off rights for distance and off-premises contracts

If you are a consumer entering an eligible distance contract (including some online, telephone or email bookings) or off-premises contract, you will generally have 14 days after the day you enter into a service contract to cancel, or 14 days after the day goods are received for eligible goods contracts, subject to statutory exceptions. A contract completed in person at our workshop does not automatically carry the same change-of-mind cancellation right. Our seven-day appointment policy does not remove these rights.

If you specifically ask us to start providing a service during the statutory cancellation period, we will obtain the express request and any necessary acknowledgement. If you then cancel before full completion, we may charge a lawful proportionate amount for work already supplied, provided the applicable legal conditions and pre-contract information requirements have been met. Once a service has been fully performed following the legally required express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel for change of mind may be lost. For certain digital downloads or software files supplied immediately, your consent and acknowledgement regarding the loss of the right to cancel will be requested before delivery begins. These provisions do not affect your rights if services or digital content are faulty or not as described.

To exercise a statutory cancellation right, email info@lehane.co with your name, order or booking details and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the optional model cancellation form at the end of these terms, but no special wording is required. Further information on returns and refunds appears in section 15.

8. Vehicle preparation, access and safety

You must be legally entitled to authorise work on the vehicle or component and provide accurate registration, VIN, keys, security information and vehicle condition details. We may require proof of identity, ownership or lawful authority before supplying keys, unlocking a vehicle, programming immobilisers or releasing security-sensitive information. We may decline unsafe, unlawful, inadequately authorised or technically unsuitable work, explaining the reason where practicable.

Please make the vehicle accessible, safe and reasonably clean, with sufficient fuel or battery charge for the authorised task. Where reasonably necessary for an authorised service, you permit suitable inspection and road testing by an appropriately authorised member of our staff; we will use reasonable care and comply with applicable law. Tell us beforehand about water damage, prior wiring alterations, crash or flood damage, aftermarket equipment, known electrical faults and any equipment you do not wish us to disturb. We may suspend work if circumstances create a safety risk or a material change in the work required.

9. Diagnostics, programming, coding and remapping

Modern vehicle electronics work can involve communication with multiple control units, software updates, coding, adaptation, resets, battery support and temporary loss of programmed settings. We will exercise reasonable care and skill and explain material, reasonably foreseeable risks relevant to the proposed work. Existing faults, unsupported modifications, failed hardware, interrupted communication and manufacturer security restrictions can affect results; no particular repair, power increase, fuel-saving result or compatibility is guaranteed unless specifically agreed in writing.

Please tell us before software work about previous tuning, emissions-related modifications, performance claims and any existing software backup. We will explain when any additional backup, recovery or verification service is required and whether that is included in the agreed price. We will not knowingly provide modifications intended for unlawful use on public roads. You are responsible for obtaining any required consent from your insurer, finance provider, fleet operator or other relevant party, and for ensuring that your vehicle continues to comply with applicable roadworthiness, emissions and use requirements. We remain responsible for any failure on our part to exercise reasonable care and skill.

10. Vehicle security, keys, immobilisers and tracking

The specification, vehicle compatibility, installation requirements and functionality of alarms, immobilisers, keys, dash cameras and tracking devices will be confirmed as applicable. A security system reduces risk but is not a guarantee against theft or recovery, and any insurer recognition depends on the specific product, installation and insurer’s rules. Third-party tracking or app services may require separate subscriptions, accounts, SIM/data connectivity and provider terms; where we sell or arrange a subscription, applicable recurring charges, duration, renewal and cancellation information will be explained before purchase.

Customers must retain supplied emergency procedures, spare keys, recovery details and access credentials safely. Service access to sensitive data will be limited to the agreed work and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. A supplied item or installation that is faulty remains subject to the legal remedies described below.

11. Customer-supplied parts and compatibility

Where we expressly agree to fit or program a customer-supplied component, the customer is responsible for the accuracy of its description, ownership and stated compatibility. We may charge the agreed labour for diagnosing an incompatible or defective supplied part, but we remain responsible for performing the services we undertake with reasonable care and skill. Work on customer-supplied parts will not remove any statutory rights relating to our own services or supplied goods. We may refuse work on parts that are unsafe, suspected counterfeit, unlawfully obtained or unsuitable.

12. Mobile call-outs and remote assistance

Travel, attendance and diagnostic charges will be clearly explained before a mobile booking is accepted. A call-out may remain chargeable where we attend as agreed but cannot carry out authorised work because of inaccurate information, inaccessible premises, absent keys, an unavailable vehicle or another circumstance within the customer’s control, subject to a fair assessment of costs and applicable cancellation rights.

For remote programming, ECU file services and support, the customer or their nominated technician must follow agreed preparation instructions, including stable power, correct hardware, reliable connectivity, accurate file identification and safe physical connection. A submitted file or control unit must be lawfully held and authorised for the requested use. We will explain reasonable risks and obtain consent before accessing devices or conducting chargeable procedures. A failed remote session does not automatically mean the agreed labour is free, nor does it remove liability for a service performed without reasonable care and skill.

13. Orders through the online shop

Product pages describe goods and any stated fitting, coding, activation, compatibility, licensing or subscription requirements. Photographs are illustrative where stated, but descriptions and supplied goods must meet applicable law. Product availability, estimated dispatch and fitting appointments may vary. Unless expressly stated, purchasing a product does not automatically include installation, coding or programming. Please check the selected product option, stated vehicle/trim compatibility, required fitting kits and order summary before paying. If you are unsure about compatibility, contact us before ordering; this does not remove your statutory rights.

An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt of an order request, not necessarily our acceptance. Unless a different point of acceptance is expressly stated at checkout, we accept an order when we expressly confirm acceptance or dispatch the goods (whichever happens first). If we cannot accept an order, any payment taken will be refunded promptly. We will contact you about material pricing errors, stock problems or compatibility concerns before acceptance rather than substituting goods or increasing an accepted price without your consent.

Car audio fitting requirements: A standalone head unit or stereo may require a separately purchased vehicle-specific fitting kit (including fascia, wiring, steering-wheel controls, aerial or interface components). Unless the particular listing expressly states otherwise, a fitting kit and professional fitting labour are not included. Products advertised as supplied and fitted include only the stated installation scope; specialist additional components or work will be agreed before they are charged.

Installation appointments: Ordering a supplied-and-fitted product does not automatically secure an installation date. We will confirm vehicle compatibility, product availability, booking details and the appointment separately. Any booking deposit or advance payment will be credited to the agreed purchase price as described in sections 4 to 6.

14. Delivery, collection and postal component work

Available destinations, shipping options, delivery restrictions, costs and estimated delivery dates will be stated before checkout. Unless an alternative has been agreed, goods sold to consumers will normally be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being made. If delivery is delayed or cannot be completed, the customer’s statutory remedies apply. Risk in goods sold to consumers generally passes when the goods are received by the consumer or their nominated recipient, subject to statutory rules for independently arranged carriers.

Delivery-only orders: When goods are purchased for shipment rather than installed by Lehane Autos, the applicable carriage charge will be added and clearly shown in the basket and checkout before payment. The available shipping service and cost depend on size, weight, value, insurance requirements and destination. Where a destination or specialist item requires an individually quoted delivery charge, we will obtain the customer’s agreement before accepting that additional charge. Customer-facing delivery prices include applicable VAT.

Goods supplied with professional installation: There is no separate customer delivery charge where the goods are provided and installed by us as part of an agreed workshop installation and are not delivered to the customer’s address. Charges for mobile visits, travel or individually arranged shipment, if applicable, will be disclosed and accepted separately.

Free workshop collection — by confirmed appointment only: Collection is subject to stock availability and our confirmation that the order is ready. Selecting collection or paying online does not reserve a collection slot or guarantee that stock is on the premises. Please do not travel to the workshop until we have confirmed both availability and the collection appointment. We will contact the customer if an item is unavailable or delayed and explain the alternatives and applicable cancellation/refund rights. Collection itself is free, but separate goods, services and agreed fitting charges remain payable.

Any free collection or installation choice must reflect the actual agreed fulfilment method; it must not be selected to avoid carriage on goods requiring delivery. If the fulfilment method changes, we will disclose and agree any applicable delivery charge before it is collected. The customer’s statutory rights regarding delivery, cancellation and remedies remain unaffected.

For postal ECU/module testing or repair, please obtain instructions before sending components; package items suitably, include agreed identification and return contact details, and remove unnecessary personal belongings. Any replacement or irreversible change will require appropriate authorisation. If you organise an inbound shipment independently, you remain responsible for your chosen carrier’s handling before we receive the package, subject to law. Our agreed handling, repair, return arrangements, insurance options and charges will be confirmed before the service is undertaken.

15. Online returns, change-of-mind cancellations and faulty goods

For eligible consumer goods bought at a distance, you normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to tell us you wish to cancel without giving a reason, followed by a further 14 days to return them. We will reimburse the eligible purchase price and standard outbound delivery charge in accordance with the law, generally no later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or satisfactory evidence that they have been sent back. We will normally refund using the original payment method without imposing a refund fee, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You may be responsible for the direct cost of return postage if we clearly informed you of that cost before purchase, unless we agree otherwise or the goods are faulty. We may make a lawful deduction for diminished value arising from handling beyond what is needed to inspect the goods as you could in a shop.

Statutory exceptions to change-of-mind cancellation may apply to goods made to a customer’s specifications or clearly personalised and certain sealed items or digital content, but ordering an ordinary stock item specially from a supplier does not automatically remove cancellation rights. We will identify any applicable exception before the order is placed. Installed or programmed goods are not automatically exempt from all consumer rights merely because they have been fitted or activated. Combined goods-and-services contracts will be assessed according to the applicable law.

Goods supplied must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose where legally required. If goods are faulty, damaged or misdescribed, you retain your rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund as appropriate under consumer law. Please contact info@lehane.co with the order reference and details so we can explain a lawful return or remedy. Do not send security-sensitive modules, keys or high-value items without obtaining return instructions.

16. Workmanship, guarantees and statutory rights

We provide services with reasonable care and skill. We offer a three-month voluntary guarantee on keys we supply and our workmanship, starting on the date the key is supplied or the work is completed. During that period we will assess a reported defect and, where covered by this guarantee, repair or replace the key or correct the affected workmanship without charge.

This voluntary guarantee does not cover a fault or damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, accidental or water damage, ordinary wear and tear, or subsequent third-party alterations. An exclusion applies only to the extent that the cause is responsible for the fault being claimed; unrelated signs of wear or damage do not automatically invalidate cover. Please contact us promptly with details and allow a reasonable opportunity to inspect and resolve the issue.

The three-month period limits only this additional voluntary guarantee. It does not shorten or remove your statutory rights concerning faulty, misdescribed or unsatisfactory goods or services not performed with reasonable care and skill. Any separate manufacturer guarantee remains subject to its stated terms and is also additional to your statutory rights.

17. Vehicle custody, storage and collection

We will take reasonable care of vehicles and property entrusted to us, but ask that you remove valuables and disclose fragile or unusual accessories. Any storage charge will be notified in advance where reasonably practicable, will be reasonable, and will not be imposed retrospectively without an agreed or lawful basis. For longer jobs, we may agree stage payments or interim invoices in the quotation or subsequently with you. If a vehicle or component is not collected after we notify you that it is ready, we may give reasonable written notice of applicable storage charges and collection arrangements. Any disposal or sale of uncollected property will be subject to applicable law and appropriate notice; we will not treat it as automatically abandoned.

18. Trade and business customers

Business customers ordering in the course of trade do not generally have the statutory consumer change-of-mind cancellation rights referred to above. Trade prices may be quoted exclusive of VAT where clearly identified. Agreed trade account, purchase-order, file-service and payment terms take precedence where expressly agreed. Business purchasers are responsible for providing accurate business details and vehicle or component authority and for checking that software, file and performance modifications are lawful for the intended vehicle and use. For business-to-business orders, discretionary change-of-mind returns and cancellation arrangements will be confirmed in writing, without excluding liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Trade customers must ensure they have the owner’s authority and that requested file or programming work is lawful for its intended use.

19. Liability and unavoidable events

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by a breach of contract or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, as required by law. We are not responsible for losses arising solely from pre-existing defects, inaccurate information supplied by a customer or events genuinely beyond our reasonable control, except to the extent the law requires otherwise. If an exceptional event prevents timely service or delivery, we will communicate the impact and the customer’s applicable cancellation or refund options.

20. Privacy, intellectual property and website use

Personal and vehicle information provided for bookings, enquiries, job records, account administration and security-sensitive services is processed as explained in our separate Privacy Policy. Where law requires confirmation of an online or distance contract on a durable medium, we will provide the required information by email, document or another suitable format that can be retained, rather than relying solely on a changeable website link. Do not upload information or files that you are not legally entitled to provide. Our site text, images and branding are protected by intellectual property laws and may not be reproduced commercially without permission, except where the law permits. Website information is general and may be updated; it does not replace a confirmed quotation, product description or your statutory rights.

21. Complaints and disputes

Contact info@lehane.co first, setting out the order or job reference and the issue. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory consumer protections or court rights that apply to a customer elsewhere in the UK. Any changes to these terms apply to contracts accepted after the new version is published and will not retrospectively change an existing booking or order without agreement. If a provision is found unenforceable, other lawful provisions remain effective. These terms should be read with any clearly disclosed, applicable product information and any accepted written quotation.
