Description

The Connects2 CTAMZUSB001 adds supported USB/SD music playback and a 3.5mm auxiliary audio input through a compatible original Mazda radio’s CD-changer port.

Limited application

For Mazda 3, Mazda 5, Mazda 6, MX-5 and RX-8, 2006–2009 only, with the matching compatible original radio and 16-pin CD-changer connection. Vehicle model and year alone do not establish compatibility.

RX-8 restriction: original-radio firmware must be between 9.55 and 9.99, excluding version 9.81. Have the exact radio and firmware identified before ordering. Mazda 2, Tribute, other years, aftermarket radios and other connector versions are not included in this offered scope.

BEFORE purchase, a professional installer must confirm the original radio’s changer protocol, available port, connector arrangement and supplied interface loom. An existing CD changer must be disconnected; simultaneous changer operation is not promised.

Offered kit

One CTAMZUSB001 interface module with its vehicle loom, USB extension cable and 3.5mm auxiliary lead, as illustrated. The offered module has USB, SD-card and line-in connections. Storage media, radio, Bluetooth module and installation are not included.

Legacy media and operation

Plan for compatible MP3 files on small FAT32-formatted media, no larger than 4GB, arranged in CD-numbered folders according to the supplied instructions and the original radio’s changer capability, with no more than 99 tracks per folder. Exact folder count and supported controls depend on the radio. Check your intended media before purchase; larger devices, every SD format, WMA, USB hard drives, iPods, smartphones and current operating systems are not guaranteed.

The auxiliary connection carries audio only; it does not add full control of the connected player. This legacy product is not represented as a modern phone charger or Bluetooth interface. No charging rate, firmware update, future replenishment or universal function-retention promise is made. Professional installation must follow the instructions applicable to the supplied unit.
