The actual supplier ordering reference is Clifford-MTM1-689; its title identifies the Directed 689M neutral-safety module. The original illustration shows the module with its connection loom and relay assembly. This is an integration component for an appropriate remote-start installation, not a complete remote-start system or a standalone guarantee that a vehicle cannot start in gear.
Mandatory compatibility conditions
An authorised Directed dealer must confirm the actual supplied module revision, the remote-start system and the vehicle before purchase. The starter must have a compatible neutral-safety input and support the required tach-based configuration. The module is not a means of making an incompatible starter suitable for a manual transmission. Systems without the required neutral-safety input are excluded.
This offered scope excludes convertible vehicles, including hard-top convertibles, and diesel vehicles. The exact manufacturer guidance excludes convertibles and does not recommend diesel use.
