The Connects2 CTAKIUSB001 adds USB music playback and an auxiliary audio input through a compatible original Kia radio’s CD-changer connection.

Exact radio requirement

The original application is for legacy Kia factory systems from 2004 with the matching 8-pin DIN OEM CD-changer connection. A Kia badge, vehicle year or an 8-pin connector alone is not proof of compatibility. Before ordering, a professional installer must identify the original radio and confirm that its CD-changer protocol, available port and connector arrangement match this exact supplied interface and loom. Do not assume support for later touchscreen systems, navigation units, aftermarket radios, other connector versions or every Kia model.

Offered kit

One CTAKIUSB001 interface with its vehicle connection loom, USB extension lead and 3.5mm auxiliary audio lead, as illustrated. This offered USB/AUX version is not represented as the later module with a built-in SD-card slot. A separate SD-card reader, memory card, USB storage device, radio, Bluetooth module and installation are not included.

Legacy media and operation

Use compatible MP3 storage media and have your intended device and radio operation checked before purchase. Plan for a small FAT32-formatted USB device, no larger than 4GB, with CD-numbered music folders arranged according to the supplied guide and the radio’s changer capability, and no more than 99 tracks per folder. Do not assume every file format, larger storage device, USB hard drive, smartphone, iPod or current operating system is supported.

Supported track selection uses the original radio’s CD-changer controls. Folder count and control behaviour depend on the radio. The auxiliary input is audio only, not full control of the connected player. Do not assume simultaneous operation with an original CD changer. Installation must follow the instructions applicable to the supplied unit.

This is a legacy interface offered from current supplier stock, not a modern phone-integration or charging solution. No charging rate, Bluetooth function, firmware update, future replenishment or universal function-retention guarantee is made.
