Description

Adds music playback from compatible USB storage and SD cards to the original factory radio through its external CD-changer connection, with auxiliary audio via the supplied 3.5mm-ended lead. Radio or existing steering-wheel controls can select supported folders and tracks. This is a legacy music interface, not a CarPlay/Android Auto upgrade or an aftermarket-radio USB-retention lead.

Music files and operation

Use FAT32-formatted storage with MP3 or WMA files. Organise music in folders named CD01, CD02 and so on. The radio limits the number of selectable folders, up to ten, with up to 99 files per folder. Modern phone, iPod or laptop USB-audio compatibility is not promised. No storage-capacity or fast-charging guarantee is made.

Compatibility

Ford Visteon 4050, 5000, 6000 or 7000 factory radio with the volume control on the LEFT and the compatible external CD-changer connection. Applications include Fiesta (1999–2001), Focus Mk1 (1998–2003), Galaxy (2000–2004), Ka (1997–2008), Puma (1997–2002) and Mondeo (1996–2002). Not the centre-volume 5000C/6000CD version.

Installation

The original radio must support the appropriate external CD-changer interface. Check the socket, original equipment and any existing changer before purchase. Installation and configuration must follow the supplied instructions; professional fitting is recommended. Bluetooth is not included.

What is supplied

One USB audio interface with its model-specific radio connection, USB extension lead and auxiliary audio lead. Storage media, phone and radio are not included.
